What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, contact us, book a call or hear from us by email. It also explains how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.

What we collect and why

When you email us or ask for a website walkthrough. If you email us, we receive your name, your email address, your website address and anything else you tell us. We use this to reply, to look at your website and to send you the walkthrough. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and taking steps at your request before a contract.

When you book a call. If you book through our Google Calendar booking page, we receive your name, your email address and your answers to the booking questions. We use this to hold the call and to follow up. Our legal basis is the same as above.

When you join our email list. We use Keap to send email updates. We only add you with your consent, or where the law allows us to contact you about similar services. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent or give our list to anyone else.

When you visit the website. Our web hosting records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you request. We use it to keep the site running securely. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Analytics and advertising, only with your consent. If you press "Count me in" on our cookie card, we use tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta pixel. They help us see which parts of the site work, and help us measure and improve our advertising. They use cookies and similar technologies. If you press "No thanks", these tools do not run. Our legal basis is your consent. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Fonts. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, Google receives your IP address.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use one essential item that is stored in your browser: your cookie choice, so that we do not ask you again. Everything else depends on your choice.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the services that help us run the business, such as our email provider (Keap), Google (analytics, email, calendar and fonts), Meta (advertising measurement, if you consent), our website host and our professional advisers. They act on our instructions or under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of these services are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on safeguards the law allows, such as the UK-US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiries and booking details for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and then for 24 months after our last contact, unless we start working together. If we work together, we keep records for as long as the law requires. We keep you on our email list until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our analytics account.

How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. This includes encrypted connections (HTTPS), limiting access to the people who need it, and using reputable providers. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email nick@mccashinmedia.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.

This site may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.

Children

This website is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, please email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Changes do not apply to information collected before the change.
